I ran into this the other day when trying to Download Fusion Linux 14 Release Candidate from their Download Page at, http://fusionlinux.org/downloads/. When you click on this download link... direct http download Firefox sends me to this Warning Message...

warning, this website may harm your computer icon

Stop - there might be a problem with the requested link

The link you requested has been identified by bit.ly as being potentially problematic. We have detected a link that has been shortened more than once, and that may be a problem because:

  • Some URL-shorteners re-use their links, so bit.ly can't guarantee the validity of this link.
  • Some URL-shorteners allow their links to be edited, so bit.ly can't tell where this link will lead you.
  • Spam and malware is very often propagated by exploiting these loopholes, neither of which bit.ly allows for.

The link you requested may contain inappropriate content, or even spam or malicious code that could be downloaded to your computer without your consent, or may be a forgery or imitation of another website, designed to trick users into sharing personal or financial information.

Bit.ly suggests that you

  • Change the original link, and re-shorten with bit.ly
  • Close your browser window
  • Notify the sender of the URL

Also, I Burned the Fusion-14-RC.iso to DVD. It Boots and runs well in my CD/DVDW TS-H652D by TSSTcorp, with 1.8Ghz Intel Processor in a Biostar Motherboard with 1Gig of memory. But wont boot in my HP DVD Drive in my P4 2.4Ghz FIC (First International Computer) Motherboard with 1GB of memory. It's not recognized at all by the HP DVD Drive (older model). I burned it with K3b and tired to make it re-writable, but got a message saying it could only burn in mode 1 (I think it was). I waited a couple of weeks for the new final version to come out. But then yesterday 12-01-10 I download and burned RC again in Braserrio to see if the HP DVD in my FIC would see it this time. It will Boot on the HP DVD in the FIC. But it gave an error in the Self Test and said not recommended to use this DVD. It does Boot, but takes forever to finish. Then it got all kinds of errors while running it, so I shut it down. Could run test again on Biostar, but I wondered if the failing of the Self Test is happening to anyone else? I downloaded from the iso.linux.hr link, this time because the direct http download link got this warning in Firefox about The link you requested has been identified by bit.ly as being potentially problematic." Which I posted in a Separate Thread...

I really liked what I saw in Fusion 14 and Fedora has been my favorite Linux Distro since Fedora 5. Fusion has allot of my Favorite Apps already installed, saving me some time with setting up a new install. So, I will wait until the RC Release Candidate becomes the full Release and download again...
