Three Good Reasons to Insulate Water Pipes
There are at least three very good reasons to insulate water pipes. Insulation stops cold water pipes from sweating when moisture in the air condenses on their cold surfaces and drips in problem areas. It prevents hot water from losing its heat as it flows through the pipes from the water heater to upstairs bathrooms and laundry areas. Lastly, insulation ensures that pipes running through unheated crawl spaces do not freeze and burst in winter's chill. The local hardware store or home improvement center offers several methods and materials.

Why Choose Metal Framing Materials Over Wood?
Metal framing materials compare favorably with wood and, in fact, have some advantages. Steel studs are lightweight, strong and uniformly straight and true.
