Popular FF add-on AdBlock Plus blocking "Spread Firefox" images


Pretty much any time we run a list of favorite or popular Firefox add-ons, readers chime in with cheers for AdBlock Plus. It's always a source of controversy on blogs -- since most of 'em are delivering content for free in exchange for displaying adverts.

The Firefox Extension Guru blog noticed that -- for some reason -- updates he was making on his web sites weren't displaying for some reason, at least not in Firefox. When loading pages in Chrome he could see the edits. After a little digging, he found the cause: AdBlock Plus had blacklisted the particular element he was adding -- a "Spread Firefox" banner.

Oh, the irony.

Well, All I can say is... If it weren't for all these "advertisers" putting up so many Blinking, Irritating and Bandwidth Stealing Adds.... Bandwidth that I pay a pretty penny for, I might add! If it weren't for people taking a good thing, Free for the user, Advertising Paid Sites and turning them into nothing but an aggravating eye soar that gives people Seizures! There would never have been a need for things like AdBlock Plus. These "advertising" tactics have never sold me anything. I have just learned to ignore them over the past 12 years. Once upon a time I did click on an interesting add or two, back int the early days... But none of this stuff is anything but aggravating and Bandwidth Thievery now days!:O AdBlock Plus... thanks for being there for us users!:)
