Create giant images with the Rasterbator

Create giant images with the Rasterbator

I remember an app that would do this on the Mac years ago. We're talking Mac IIfx days, I think. Either way, this is a way cool web service (or free app). The Rasterbator (oh, grow up) takes any raster image, and blows it up to a poster of any size up to 20 meters, or about 60 feet. What's really cool though is that the app will carve it into prinatble chunks, so you can assemble them however you like. Get artsy and spread them around like a crazy mosaic. Or carefully assemble them to form a seamless billboard. Either way it's a great way to empty those inkjet cartridges. Oh, and it is both a web app and a download, as you can do either. The standalone app requires .NET, and the authors think it might work using Mono on the Mac and Linux. If you make that one work, be sure to give them a heads-up. Now it's time to coat the walls with one gigantic picture of this.
