ConnochaetOS Linux Lightweight Distro Runs on At least i586 compatible processor (i. e. Pentium I)

I tried out ConnochaetOS today and it is a nice fast little Linux Distro. ConnochaetOS Linux Lightweight Distro Runs on At least i586 compatible processor (i. e. Pentium I) At least 64 MB RAM At least a 2 GB hard disk. The download that I got was an Install Only ISO Image. I installed it in Virtual Box to try it out, before burning a CD. It has a nice set of Apps, read to go with Web Browsing. Playing Music and it will Play YouTube Videos. It didn't have Flash 7 that some sites needed. But, that's just fine. Since I plan on installing ConnochaetOS on a P1 - 166MHz Machine, with 64Mb of Ram. I use to run DSL Linus on it. But they stopped updating DSL and the Web Browsers keep hanging up when I get Online. I have Slitaz on it now. But it just can't handle Slitaz. So, just for kicks. I'm gonna get that little P166 going again:)

Update (01-23-12)
It took me a bit of guessing and basically trying every App in the System Menu, to find out which App handles Adding and Removing App's - Programs. I found out that it is Blinky. One I have never come across or don't remember. It works much the same way DSL Linux handle's it's Apps.  But, there are allot... I mean, Allot Less Apps to chose from. Still, it looks like a fun little Distro and good for keeping your old PC's Good for something other than Stacking them up in the Garage;)

ConnochaetOS 0.9.0 released

I am pleased to announce the release of ConnochaetOS 0.9.0. After one year of development and after three years after the last release of it's predecessor DeLi Linux, this the first stable release of ConnochaetOS.
ConnochaetOS 0.9.0 provides:

• Kernel Linux-Libre 2.6.32.43
• The IceWM Desktop 1.3.7
• A lighweight webkit based web browser - XXXTerm
• Goffice Word processor and Spredsheet - Abiword and Gnumeric
• Lighweight E-mail and IRC app, multimedia player, file manager, cd burning tool and even some small games

Optional are available:

• Kernel Linux-Libre 2.6.39.4
• GNU Icecat - a libre Firefox derivative in the versions 3.6.16 and 5.0
• LXDE 0.5.x

and many other packages.

We decided to base ConnochaetOS on Arch Linux, but completely rebuild, since we want to support i586, and replace some packages with our own ones, because of footprint, stability or freedom.
