Well... I would call this more of a Slap-n-Tickle Match... but still interesting article;)

Now as for me... Don't even get me started on Ubuntu! It's a Memory HOG doesn't want to install on most of my Desktops... I have 4 in the house ranging from P1-400mhz to P4 2.4Gig... Running on various OS's from Blag Linux, well the Blag 9 Update Crashed my Blag 7, which was running flawlessly at the time and had since Blag 5!!!:O.. Just goes to show ya... it's always something... The other machines run Win 2000, XP and 98SE... Also I have 3 rally old P166's in the Garage that all run  well too on DSL Linux, Win 95 and 98... The P4 -2.4 in the house runs Blag Linux, which is based on Fedora... My Hands down favorite:) See, my other Posts on Blag... I Have tried Fedora, Ubuntu, DSL Linux, Debain and about 15 other Linux Distors on these Machines so far, including Live CD's and DVD's like Artist X and Ubuntu Studio, DyneBolic and more... I prefer HD installations because they run much faster than those that depend on your systems Memory... which the most I have is 890MB in my P4... Fedora will install on my P1-400mhz machine with about 350mb of ram, but it runs slowly... Ubuntu wouln't even install on these slightly older machines that I have. It wouln't work with the onboard  Intel Video or just says this machine is not fast enough. And I didn't try just one Ubuntu either... I have tried about 5 different Rea lease... DSL Linux will install and run fantastically on a P1-166mhz machine, but it's file system is akin to Win 3.1 and it is a little complicated to install and get thing up and running. But, all and all it is rally cool to see an old machine like a P1 gain new life:) Slax Linux runs well right off the CD on a P1 with 200mb of memory or maybe 300mb... can't remember for sure now... I haven't tried installing it on a Hard Drive yet... but I plan to. It's is a little too basic for my tastes though. Just a few basic Apps come with the Distro... And that brings me to my favorite Distro... Blag Linux (Fedora Core)!:) I comes with more Apps than most people will even use and with Synaptic you can install Open Office with ease along with Literally 1000's of other Apps... to your hearts Desire!:) Try it out, but maybe wait on the Blag 9 Update if you are already running Blag 7!:O

After several weeks of trying I finally had to give in to my sweaty and now pruney hands. I could not get the heat out of my Ubuntu install on my T60p laptop. I tried everything…CPU monitors, tuning down the speed, blowing out the vents, BIOS changes, and all that. Last night I grabbed the Fedora 10 installer, burned an ISO and re-booted. I completed my install this morning and although these two distros have a lot in common, they also have some definite differences in how they work. (REad More)...
