There are several Projects, that can help, in un-encrypting, files. If you get hit by one of these Crypto Locker Types of Malware. Some of them, still can't be encrypted, though. So, backing up all or your files, is the best way to protect your self, against them. This Malware, is all over the Internet now. They often, infect well known Web Sites, Servers. By Hacking into them. And then infect them. With "Drive By" Malware. That can infect your System, when you access the site. So, depending on the Delivery Mechanism. You, could get infect. Without even knowing it. Until you can't access your Files or OS, that is. I was actually kind of surprised to see, Trend Micro. Doing a Free version of this type of Rescue Software. They typically want you to pay, just to try out their Software. I don't really like Trend Micro Software. It usually rates below Avast and several others, in the Comparison Tests I read. And I have seen, Malware and Viruses, get by Trend Micro Antivirus Software. Just as much as any other Brands of Antivirus and Anti-Malware Software. And any Free Software, that they do offer. Is usually severely limited, in functionality. But, this Recovery Tool does sound good. Here's some links to some of the other Crypto Ransom-ware Rescue Projects, that I have read about.
