Home Made Vacuum Chamber, made from a Pressure Cooker, Demo Video and Guerrilla guide to CNC machining, mold making, and resin casting info

Here's an interesting Video and idea, for making a Vacuum Chamber. "This is a home-made vacuum chamber, made from a pressure cooker (3mm aluminium) and a sheet of 12mm polycarbonate. I drilled a hole in the side and added a vacuum inlet - Which is simply attached to the vacuum side of my standard air compressor (the side that usually is exposed to the air)."

Shaving foam in a homemade vacuum chamber (WARNING: Loud!)

This is a home-made vacuum chamber, made from a pressure cooker (3mm aluminium) and a sheet of 12mm polycarbonate. I drilled a hole in the side and added a vacuum inlet - Which is simply attached to the vacuum side of my standard air compressor (the side that usually is exposed to the air).

At the lowest, I measure 27 inches of mercury (0.09 x atmospheric pressure).

At the end of the video I slowly release the pressure and the foam once again collapses to it's normal volume. You can also see the polycarbonate sheet visibly return to flat as the pressure is released.
