We Can Now Import Videos from Google Photos and Upload them to YouTube!:) But, it wont work well, in Firefox, in Fedora Linux. I tried it in Fedora 14 and 21. You can select videos and un-select them. But, the Preview Player, just sits there loading. When you try to watch a video, to see what is in it. To see if you want to put it on YouTube. And worse than that. If you try to Play any Videos, in Google Photos, in Firefox. You will get a Strange Error. It just says "Invalid Parameters" and sets there looking all Black and Fuzzy. It even locks up Firefox, in Fedora 14. On my Core 2 Intel, 1.8GHz System, with 3 Gig of Ram. But, in Fedora 14 and 21, in Chrome Web Browser. It works fine. Except the Full Screen Mode, wont work. In the Video Previews, on the Import Page. I suspect, this may be Disabled, by Google. But, that's just my guess. After reading over the Help info Page. That is linked, when you try to use Full Screen in the Video Preview. I also tried it in Windows 7, in Firefox and the Videos wont play, on that System either. I will try out Chrome, in Win7 too... Also, Chrome in Fedora 14. Won't update any more. Because, Chrome Does not Support older Fedora Distros. And even though, it was working. After a while Chrome Crashed. Just setting there Syncing. I was actually using Firefox, at the time. And thought I would let Chrome Sync, with my newer Fedora Systems... So... Well, I just Spent All Day, Learning and Fighting with the new YouTube - Google Photos Import Feature. I had to use Chrome, to get it to work right. I figured, that Chrome would work better in a Windows System. But, it did Not. It kept using up to much System Resources and Locking up Chrome. This System, is a modest one. It's an AMD Core 2, with 2 Gig of Ram. But, it does just fine, when running Firefox. And will do most anything, I want it to do. I do, Seldom use this system. Since I use Fedora Linux, as my main OS. And have since 2005. I just began using the Win7 System, more, lately. To upload to Google Photos. Since, they don't provide a Desktop App, for any Linux OS. Except Android. And I don't have a Mobile Phone, at all. So, I couldn't use Android, if I wanted to. But, I can't even imagine. Doing all of my Video and Picture work in Google Photos, on a Small Pone Screen!:O And Android is based on the Linus Kernel. So, why not build a real Linux Desktop App? Anyway. After a while. I fired up my Fedora 21 Dell 1525 Laptop. It's a Core 2 Intel Processor, with 3 Gig of Ram. Just a bit more Ram, than the Win7 Desktop. So, I tried out using Chrome, on it. To Import my Google Photos Videos into YouTube, on the Fedora 21 laptop. It worked fine. The YouTube interface is still Quirky and Slow to Respond. But, it did work. Without, hanging up or locking up Chrome. I messed around with it all day and learned allot about how things work. I spent, way too much time, on it... But, I did get 95 Videos Imported. I think I missed a place, in the Process. Where I could have given all of the Videos a Descriptive Name. They all are titled Don Bishop. I thought that the file names, would be the default name. Like, YouTube, use to do, it. So, I spent a bunch more time adding Descriptions, to all of my Videos. I found a way to to all of them or a whole page at a time. So, I added Descriptions and Links to my Web Sites and Blog, to them all. It was actually pretty fast. Once, I figured out how to do it. On the YouTube Video Manager, Page... https://www.youtube.com/my_videos?o=U And I setup a Playlist for them, too. They are all on my 1976 Chevy Blazer 4x4 Truck. These are videos, I made. Back in 2008. Here's the Playlist link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pZLb-Ir4aw&list=PLAG1YL-u0LzdZJFBVhGWGfkdWaohjjyq7 I had big plans to edit them all and upload them to YouTube, as a Series. But, I never got around to all of that Daunting Editing Work. So, I must say. Once. you figure out how to get the Google Photos App, to Upload your Pics and Videos. I's way easier and faster, than uploading all of your Pics and Videos. One at a time... The Photos App, is Quirky, in it's own right. I finally figured out. After a couple of months, of messing around with it on and off... The App, only goes down, to one or maybe two Sub Directories. So, you have to set any deeper Directories, by them selves, Separately. And watch out! What ever you Delete on Google Photos. Is Automatically Deleted, on All Connected Devices. Phones, PC, Tablets, what ever. So, I Disconnect every Folder. Right after I am done Uploading, from it. So, I don't accidentally Delete my Treasured Pics and Videos. When I'm messing around on Google Photos. And imagine... What would happen. If someone Hacked Your Google Password! They could Delete or Mess With all of your Connected Pics and Videos. On all of your Connected Devices!:O That's a Huge Security Risk. That I Don't want to Take!... But, back to the working of Google Photos. I wonder why, they call it Google Photos. When it works with both Photos and Videos? They could have called it... Google VidPhos or PhoVids. Or, I don't know. How about, Google Media? Or YouPics... Anyway... If you Pic the Top Main Directory and wait for Several Days. The Pics and Videos, in the Deeper Directories. Will Never get Uploaded. And pay attention, to the "Supported File Formats, too. Several Open Source Formats. Will be Skipped. Such as, .ogv and .webm Videos. And strangely, .png image files are skipped. Along with a couple more, that I can't remember, right now. And More than half of my Pics are .png files... There is a 10GB File Size limit. Not a bad limit. But, I had one Video file. That shows up, to come in, just under 10GB. And it never would upload. So, I ended up editing the two and a half hour video, down to 6 Parts. I know... I should have done that, in the first place. No one, will sit and watch a two and a half hour How To Video. And it's a Pain trying to jump around in the video, trying to find the interesting parts. So, I spent a week, editing videos. I did one, each day. I managed to do the editing, fairly quickly. With Kdenlive. My favorite Open Source Video Editor. And it took 5 to 6 hours to Render them in Kdenlive. But, that was on an old Pentium 4, 2.4GHZ System, with 2Gig of Ram. It's running Fedora 22, with the XFCE Desktop. And it runs very well, on XFCE. It's a bit sluggish on the Mate Desktop. Which is my favorite. After Gnome 2, that is. It actually worked out pretty well. I could just get the Render going and go on about my other Work on another Computer. I was hoping that Google. Would make the Google Photos - Videos. Importable to YouTube. And at first, when I started out, with it. A month or two ago. The Import Feature, was not there. But today, I found it. When I Went to upload a new Video Slide show, that I made. Don's Music Playlist ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xtfMOtSJXI&list=PLAG1YL-u0Lzcot5cdOls59V_CLAGlnnXU So, now I'm able to upload all of my Videos. That I want, to Google Photos. And then, Import them to YouTube, Rather Quickly. So, maybe my dreams of being a YouTube Star, will finally come true!;)
