Here's an Intricate Designed Home Built Subwoofer, for a Home Entertainment System. It's supposed to sound very good. I used to be a Cabinet Maker. And I've built a few Speaker Boxes for my Cars and Trucks. Nothing this intricate though. But, I have a good idea of how much time and work that this one would take to build. And it looks like it would take more than a Weekend to Build this one. But, it just might be worth the effort...

This is a folded-horn tuba design by Bill Fitzmaurice. The shape of the path allows for very high output with relatively low power input. I'm running this off a 300W plate amp with the gain ~ 1/3rd of the way up.

The rule of thumb when building or buying a sub is: small, cheap, loud - pick two. I chose cheap and loud, as a result the dimensions of this beast are 24.5 X 36 X 36. It uses a single 15" driver.
