I have been following Fusion Linux for about 6 months now and keep up with the goings on on their Google Group daily. I initially tried out the Fusion Linux 14 RC (Release Candidate) Live DVD and was very Impressed with the list of Apps and Features. They already had several of my Favorite Linux Apps installed and ready to go. See my Screen Shots to get an idea of the Apps installed and the look of Fusion 14. The thing I liked best was that Fusion is ready to Play Internet Videos and Music right on the Live DVD. This saves you allot of time and trouble, because you don't have to manually install Java and Flash to be able to View and Listen to your favorite Online Video and Music. Fusion 14 is based on Fedora 14. So, I'm right at home in Fusion. I have been running Fedora Linux since Fedora 5 (Blag 5000 to be more specific). Blag which is also Based on Fedora was my first Linux Operating System and I have loved Fedora Ever Since. I have been just building my own Fedora Systems since Blag Stopped updating theirs at Blag 90000. So, I'm pretty familiar with what it takes to get a Basic Fedora Install up and running for every day Computing and Internet Use. It takes a few weeks to a couple of months for me. But I do install over 200 Apps to get my Systems Ready and Raring to Go for most anything;) So, I tired out Fusion Final Release today in Virtual Box and it looks even Better!:) It has some nice boot graphics and still works very well. I do like the Mint Apps Menu since it works allot better than it does in Ubuntu. It is fast and doesn't keep you waiting for things to open up like it does in every Ubuntu Release since they first put it in. One thing I would change right off, is there is only one Panel at the Bottom of your Desktop. I love the Top and Bottom Panels on Fedora and always add a Top Panel and set up all of my Systems with both a Top and Bottom Panel. I read better from Top down and from left to right. So having my Apps Menu come down from the Top is a whole lot easier to red for me. Even with the Mint Search Menu added. I know there are still a few bugs being worked out, from reading the e-mails I get from their Google Group. But, I'm sure they will iron those out soon. So, come on over and download the DVD Image and give Fusion 14 Linux a Try Out!:)

Fusion Linux is 100% compatible with Fedora. A Fedora Remix including packages from Fedora and RPM Fusion software repositories plus some custom packages.
The basic guide principles behind this Fedora Remix are; “Beyond Upstream” and “Multimedia Out of the Box”. You can also think of it as a “Pimp My Ride” version of Fedora!
To clarify what “Beyond Upstream” means, you have to understand that the Fedora Project is closely tied with the upstream projects and the Fedora Developers don’t do anything that upstream don’t do. And an “Upstream Only” mentality has lots of good things going for it.
One of the drawbacks is that “Upstream Only” makes for a too conservative and old fashioned desktop user experience. This is where Fusion Linux steps in.
And another drawback of Fedora being tied to upstream, is the fact that it doesn’t allow much progress and experimentation regarding the look and feel of the desktop experience. Hence the need for the Remix desktop.
Because of this opportunity we decided to make an awesome looking Fedora Remix oriented for advanced desktop users and the Fedora Linux enthusiast.
Fusion Linux is also very much influenced by Linux Mint and its community.
