Microsoft: We’re Sorry, but We’ll Make it Up to You | PC Pitstop

Interesting... article link below... I have running Computers with every Windows Version from Win 3.1 to Win XP, Oh! and a broken Gateway with Vista on my Desk right now... that I'm working on for someone!:O Well, can't actually Blame Vista for this one... this machine got a little zap during a lighting storm, but just the Modem blew... at first... now it's Dead!:O Could be a BIOS bug, according to the Gateway Support Site though. Anyways... I'm so glad I don't use WindBlows for my main Computer any more!:) For the past 2 plus years I have been researching and trying out different Linux Distros. This is my first and still my favorite... Blag Linux and gnu by le brixton Linux action group. Blag Linux is my favorite OS and I have been using it since Blag 5000, for over 2 years now... Check it out!:) Blag Linux and gnu by le brixton Linux action group http://www.blagblagblag.org/

DistroWatch.com: BLAG Linux And GNU
BLAG is a Linux distribution based on Fedora Core and reduced to one CD. It includes useful applications missing from Fedora Core (e.g. mp3, p2p, apt, etc...), as well as a suite of graphics, Internet, audio, video, office, and peer-to-peer file sharing applications. BLAG is up-to-date with all Fedora errata fixes at time of release and uses synaptic for easy upgrades. The name stands for Brixton Linux Action Group, which works to overthrow corporate control of information and technology through community action and to spread Free Software.

I wouldn't lie and say I have had no problems at all with the Linux Distros that I have tired out. But, other than my "main computer" a P4 2.4Gig with about 890mb of memory. No Hot Rod, thats for sure.. My main machine screams with Blag Linux! Sure I would love to have an Athalon 64 or something like that. But then again... there's no need with Linux!:) I usually try different Linux Distros on older computers, 166mhz to 650mhz and from 64 to 350mb of memory. I spent 8 years prior to trying Blag Linux, every day tweaking and fixing broken software and Windows Operating systems. And I have to say that most Linux Distros are allot less aggravating than Windows. Even when you do have problems... No, I'm not a Coder... I do very few things in the Command line. And when I do, I usually copy and paste the commands from a Linux Support Site or Forum. Anything you need to know or have a problem with, just search the key words in Google... and that goes for Windows too... But have you ever read through the MS Support Sites???!:O Most of the better rated Linux Distros have Graphical (GUI) Based Applications for most any operation. Updates can be set to Automatic or turned off, with no Nagging Pop Ups!:) I did recently have a big problem updating from Blag Linux 7 to Blag 9. It Crashed my OS!:O But I didn't loose any Data. I can still access my files by Booting to any Live Linux CD or DVD that can mount the file system. I use DyneBolic for it's auto mounting of the file systems to access my file for now... Or Inside Security or System Restore CD or one of the many others I have downloaded. I have a Stack of over 35 CD's and DVD's with different Linux Distros which I have tried out. There are so many Linux Distros to Choose from, anything from Live CD - DVD's that don't even tough your hard Drive, to full HD installs that format and partition your HD for you. One day maybe I'll post a list and Critique of them on my Blog, http://donsdeals.blogspot.com ... This is the first time I have had a problem that I couldn't find a solution to on the Blag Support Site or in a Linux Forum and the first time I have posted a question on the Blag forum since my first install of Blag 50001. I'm still working on fixing my Blag installation after 2 weeks though. Not that I couldn't just install Blag fresh in about 20 minutes... but I don't want to loose the setup and Applications I have added to my Blag in the past 2 years...  So personally I would not recommend Blag 9, until they get all the updating bugs worked out. This is the first Big problem I have had with Blag though... Blag 5-7 is built on Fedora Core Linux and Fedora is my favorite Distro for it's ease of use and adding Applications - Programs and Updating is easy with Synaptic, too.

This is a great Site with listings and info on many of the Linux Distros. The LWN.net Linux Distribution List...  http://lwn.net/Distributions/

I have a Blog, where I post about things that interest me. Here's a link to my search on my Blog for all my posts on Linux... http://donsdeals.blogspot.com/search?q=linux

Check it out... Blag Linux is Free of Course!:)
